What's going on around Custom Dart Cabinets workshop ?

Well, it's been too long since I've posted some of the items I've been working on . Plenty of reasons for that, but none of them are real good . So, let me update what I've been working on and what I've got planned for the future.

First, I need to apologize to anyone that was waiting for photos of a project I was working on that I mentioned a while back. One that I really wanted to post was a cabinet built for the Park Ridge Volunteer Fire Company. I delivered the piece and never took pictures of it. They are local to me so I promise pictures will be up very soon of that cabinet. It really is one of the nicest cabinets I've made to date. Now, I'm hoping it is still in good shape. I've seen those guys shoot darts, so I'm sure it's ok Winking .

The other one is a nice cabinet requested by a customer in Maine. This one would be of interest to the outdoors-man, and women. No gallery shots yet as I haven't shipped it out yet, but here is a shot of it.

Picture of Deer Cabinet

Currently, I'm working on six orders. This would normally have me pretty nuts but with the construction slowing down in the area, this is a welcome situation. In the next week or two, there should be a big update posted on my gallery pages.

Don't miss the new items I've built for myself, which are available for order. They can be found on the Featured Items page. The cabinet for a Dartmaster III®. Also, the storage cabinet for those of us with too many sets of darts. You know who you are.... B.R.

Lastly, I'm going to be purchasing a C.N.C. engraver in the near future and this will let me do some pretty detailed work which would be too time consuming and expensive to do by hand. The machine will also let me do work in a repeatable fashion. With time, I've got some ideas bouncing around in my head that I'm anxious to experiment with !

Thanks for your orders, and keep those ideas coming in !

Contact Forms Working , Finally !

Hello ! I have finally moved my site over to a new hosting service which allows me to use a contact form which incorporated my overall site design. This has taken a long time and it should allow a user of my site a much easier way to submit your orders / questions. The overall design of the site was tweaked a little and will continue to be tweaked when I have the time. But for now, it's off to the shop to create some wood dust !

Two new completed projects posted

Summer Update

Not too much to update here except to say that the orders keep coming in and my time is pinched. Once an order is placed, customers should expect at least a 4 week wait at this point until I start a project. I do have some interesting projects in the works right now. If you are a member of a fire house, or know somebody that is a member and possibly a dart thrower stay tuned for the next project which I'm working on .

Changes to shipping on large pieces

Due to some damage during shipping of the large combo back board , this piece will no longer ship assembled. The lightbox is large and becomes an area which is easily damaged should the package fall during shipping. From now on, the item will be shipped with minor assembly required. This will allow me to use smaller boxing which will save on the nearly $90 it costs to ship and it will also prevent damage from occurring. The assembly will be very straight forward and easy to perform and will require you have a screw gun on hand.

At the moment, this is the only piece I build which will require assembly. All other items arrive ready to hang and enjoy.

Spring Update

Hello, It's funny that I am writing a spring update today and just a few hours ago there was snow falling outside ! This weather is so hard to deal with because it just doesn't know what it wants to do... arghh.

Well, my schedule will start to pick up again now that the temperature is not a factor in my wood shop. RIght now I am working on 3 orders which have been placed. I'll be putting up some pictures of the current projects as they progress so check back to see what I'm working on now.

Thanks for stopping by and throw well !

Winter Update

With some extreme cold finally hitting the eastern part of the U.S.A. , I will be opening the shop only when it's warm enough. My shop is in a garage that is heated by a propane heater and once the temperatures dip below freezing it becomes hard to work on anything that requires attention to detail. During these periods of extreme cold I won't be able to work on cabinets so please try to understand delivery times may be increased until the spring arrives. Stay warm !
