What's going on around Custom Dart Cabinets workshop ?

Well, it's been too long since I've posted some of the items I've been working on . Plenty of reasons for that, but none of them are real good . So, let me update what I've been working on and what I've got planned for the future.

First, I need to apologize to anyone that was waiting for photos of a project I was working on that I mentioned a while back. One that I really wanted to post was a cabinet built for the Park Ridge Volunteer Fire Company. I delivered the piece and never took pictures of it. They are local to me so I promise pictures will be up very soon of that cabinet. It really is one of the nicest cabinets I've made to date. Now, I'm hoping it is still in good shape. I've seen those guys shoot darts, so I'm sure it's ok Winking .

The other one is a nice cabinet requested by a customer in Maine. This one would be of interest to the outdoors-man, and women. No gallery shots yet as I haven't shipped it out yet, but here is a shot of it.

Currently, I'm working on six orders. This would normally have me pretty nuts but with the construction slowing down in the area, this is a welcome situation. In the next week or two, there should be a big update posted on my gallery pages.

Don't miss the new items I've built for myself, which are available for order. They can be found on the Featured Items page. The cabinet for a Dartmaster III®. Also, the storage cabinet for those of us with too many sets of darts. You know who you are.... B.R.

Lastly, I'm going to be purchasing a C.N.C. engraver in the near future and this will let me do some pretty detailed work which would be too time consuming and expensive to do by hand. The machine will also let me do work in a repeatable fashion. With time, I've got some ideas bouncing around in my head that I'm anxious to experiment with !

Thanks for your orders, and keep those ideas coming in !

Summer Update

Not too much to update here except to say that the orders keep coming in and my time is pinched. Once an order is placed, customers should expect at least a 4 week wait at this point until I start a project. I do have some interesting projects in the works right now. If you are a member of a fire house, or know somebody that is a member and possibly a dart thrower stay tuned for the next project which I'm working on .

Ok, the project is just about ready to ship. The woodwork has been stained and a topcoat of polyurethane was applied. We are waiting on a burgandy felt for the inside at the moment. The next update to this project will show up in the Gallery with the finished piece.

This set of doors have been engraved with initials the customer requested. I also incorporated some celtic knots that she liked. Once I sent her a drawing of the plans she requested a couple of minor adjustments and we came up with the design above. This piece is currently being stained and will be ready by the end of the weekend for shipment.
